Day 10..."Get me down from here!"

Hi Friends and Family,

Today we learned to face our fears on the "Confidence Course". After a brisk 2 mile march we arrived at the course and had to tackle individual and team obstacles like I've never faced before. The first was a giant wall we had to pull ourselves over using a rope. It was so slick from the morning dew that I almost didn't make it over...my fingers pulled me over at the last minute. The next obstacle was a giant ladder made of wood that we had to go to the top of, put our leg over and come down the other side...(That one just about did me in!) The third obstacle was a series of ever increasing walls where we worked as a squad to help each other over. (The last wall must have been ten feet tall!) I was the man on the team who would get up on the wall and then use my weight to pull the smaller guys over. It was an amazing experience to get everyone over safely. (Thankfully, we had a couple of really athletic guys to help on our team.) The next obstacle was one where you would go down a wire, high in the air, using your hand and feet...many fell on the net below but I felt like a big monkey and made it all the way down. I was so proud! The last obstacle was leaning tower of death where a team of four worked together to conquer...This one was another one I was glad to get done with. I'm thankful for God's safety for our class during this exercise. We had a few injuries but nothing overwhelming...

I'm going to post pictures tomorrow for you to see what I'm talking about. My batteries died on my camera so I'm getting pictures from LT. Monahan for us to share...

Love you all!

Dave
