Day 21...Three Weeks Down...Three To Go!

Hi Family and Friends,

Hard to believe I've been down at Ft. Jackson for three weeks. Christina comes in six days so I'm really excited to see her for a few days. I have some plans up my sleeve to make her stay fun...I plan to take her to dinner on Friday night with some of the crazy soldiers I've met down here, we'll drive to Hilton Head Island on Saturday and spend the night before coming back to base and brunch at the Officer's Club.

Today was a great day for bookkeeping, laundry, postcards, rest, guitar practice and a movie. We also spent quite a bit of time shaping and shaving our berets for graduation from the first phase of training this week. Some of the guys spent 4 hours working on their berets today...I shaved mine with a razor (to get the extra fuzz off), dunked it in water and froze it before working more on the shape...Still needs work!

Congrats to my little sister Joia for her work in the Miss Colorado pageant! Way to go young lady!!!

Pray for my sister Comfort who fell and broke her arm tonight while at my home in Colorado.

Thank you Kevin & Hunter for mowing the lawn!

Lots of love to you all!

4 hours working on a hat!? - I have to say that's kinda funny. :oD
No matter how hard this week is, remember your wife is coming! That'll help you get through anything.....Have fun on Hilton Head, I've heard it's beautiful.

Sounds like an exciting 3 days in the woods! How special to worship God and take communion in the field. We are so glad Christina will be able to visit this weekend and she will be able to meet your fellow comardes. Love, Mom and Dad N.
