Hi Family and Friends,

What a bummer...I took my camera out on Friday night to get some neat pictures of Columbia for the blog but when I came home that evening I couldn't find my camera. I retraced my steps but now believe I set it down and someone took it home. :(

Friday was another day of PT and class work. We had two more tests and then were given the weekend off! Praise the Lord!

On Saturday a few friends and I decided to take a trip to the coast and spend some time in the water. (It's hard to find the ocean in Colorado so I couldn't resist the drive.) We looked up Myrtle Beach on the computer and it said 144 miles away...Why not? The drive was supposed to take 2.5 hours but due to my skill at navigation the trip only took 4 hours! We had an incredible time driving the back roads of South Carolina, singing, debating the Bible, listening to music, and laughing...We had no agenda and no one got stressed out about being lost so we had a great day.

I had never seen tobacco fields before and was amazed by the beauty of the countryside. It was like taking a trip back in time...there were little country stores, Baptist churches every few miles, and little old couples rocking in their chairs on porches...

When we finally made it to Myrtle Beach we quickly found a little slice of beach and enjoyed the waves for a few hours. There were a lot of seashells on the beach and people were walking lazily about trying to find a little treasure.

We had a good dinner and drove home. We left Columbia at noon, got to the beach at 4 p.m. and left the beach at 8 p.m. to be home by about 11:30 p.m. I drove the entire time because it was my rental car...I'm still a little tired from the trip but I loved every minute of it!

Sam Rico and Sam Olmos were the two guys who traveled with me. You couldn't meet greater guys!

World's Tallest Sand Castle!

Whitest Guy on the Beach!

Here I am with Sam Rico on the beach. (Some guy teased me when he saw the University of Wyoming T-Shirt...Not too many Cowboys out here I guess...) Notice the wedding going on in the background.

This morning I put a suit on and went back to the church I went to the first Sunday I was here. "Word of God Ministries" It was like going full circle on my last weekend here. I truly thanked the Lord for bringing my family and I this far. We sang and clapped to the front as we brought our offering to the Lord.
God has been good! 6 days and I'll be home...
Thanks for your kind words, love and support.

You look so good and your writings sound so rich and full of your army adventures. The Atlantic ocean is a long way from Wyoming but God is so good to allow our boy with the thirst for travel and adventure to go new places and meet new friends. It took a lot of courage for you and Christina to step out and walk through the door He opened for you. Dad and I are so proud of you and the journey you've undertaken. We love you and are so looking forward to having you home again. Love you, Mom

Look at my brother with all the muscles and strength to go with it! Proud of you! Herbie likes the ocean picture, but now he keeps saying..."Go swimming, Daddy, Go swimming!" Love you! See you in a few days! Joia
