9 weeks, 4 days, but who is counting?!!?!?!?

Ok, I AM! :) We are anxiously waiting the birth of our third child due May 5, 2008. Herbie was my date to the doctor's office this week and we had a blast together. We had to park a block away in a parking garage, but Herbie took my hand and guided me through the elevators, down the street, and straight to the doctor's office. He had fun watching all the fish while I filled out all the new paperwork (we had to change OB doctors this week due to our military insurance). Herbie's favorite question is "What are you doing?". I have always been preparing myself for the "Why?" stage, but I think he has decided "What are you doing" is better. Herbie played with the doctor's tape measure while the doctor and I chatted, but nothing was sweeter then when we went to listen to "baby brothers" heart beat and Herbie stopped all he was doing and sat in Ahh as he heard the heartbeat for the first time. The doctor reported, 140 - sounds great! Then Herbie got to climb onto the table with me while the doctor measured my tummy. Herbie held the top of the tape measure while the doctor held the bottom. He was so proud. After the doctor left, Herbie climbed onto the exam table, pulled up his shirt and asked me to measure his belly. Then he pointed to the machine that allows you to hear the heartbeat and asked for his turn. Well, we then had to chat all the way back to the car that only mommy has the baby brother in her belly. Herbie is going to be an excellent big brother. Thanks Herbie for being my buddy and body guard! Now, we shall wait for this sweet baby boy to enter the world.......... Thank you Lord for our three blessings.
