Our Babies are Sick...

It sure is no fun being a kid when you are sick! Lots of coughs and sneezes at the Nagel home this last week. Herbie and Allie are both taking breathing treatments and Allie has antibiotics for her ear infections. We took them both back to the doctor yesterday and they are getting better. Thanks for your prayers!

Allie doesn't cuddle as much as Herbie does so Daddy enjoys holding his little girl while she takes her medicine. She screamed "bloody murder" when she took her first treatment but now both the kids sit still and watch their favorite monkey, "Curious George."

Papa came over on Super Bowl Sunday and watched the game with the boys. He messed up Dave's diet with his goodies! (I'm trying to convince my dad to join my 100 day health challenge. We have 4 or 5 people doing it now and it is neat to hear positive feedback. We are on day 12 if you want to get on my e-mail encouragement list.)

We are sure thankful for the family support we have had with the kids recently. Jim and Dora (Christina's parents) watched the kids all day on Saturday so we could work and were a big help. Mom and Dad are always willing to take the kids before one of my work shifts and my little sister, Joia, comes over each Wednesday morning at the crack of dawn so I can get to class. Thanks so much!!!

We have a terrific nanny named Amanda. She is an answer to prayer. She does so much more than we could ask and loves the kids like a family member. (I tease her that she spends more on the kids than we pay her!) She is always cooking, cleaning, doing Allie's hair, and more. Thanks Amanda!

After drilling with the 193rd MP's last week I was able to go and help Christina with her annual Chinese New Year celebration at work. I was sure proud of all her work over the year. There were 1250 people in attendance, lots of beautiful adopted kids and Christina seemed to know almost all the families. They honored her work during the event and I was proud to be attached to her! She has been with the company for about 6 years and has done well!

I'm really excited for this upcoming weekend. I will be with my new unit at Buckley Air Force Base. This will be my first chapel with the aviation battalion and I'm looking forward to meeting the troops. I have a really good feeling about this new assignment and believe this will be a chance to prove my worth as a Chaplain. Pray for me!!!

Lots of love to you all...

Dave

Poor babies! I'm glad to hear that they are feeling better. Dillan and Charley both had those breathing treatments when they were younger...I remember the "screaming bloody murder" part very well. Praying for you all...never a dull moment, eh? Keep the updates coming!
