I returned late last evening from a week of training in San Francisco. It was a great week of studying under a wise old man. Donald Streeter is 79 years old and has the scars and war stories to show of working with labor unions for 25+ years. In his career of representing management rights he had his tires slashed, was personally picketed twice: "Streeter Sucks Lemons" on the signs, dealt with 79 Unfair Labor Practices at one time at Ft. Carson (I freak out because I'm dealing with 2 ULP's!), and much more. He was one of the funniest, wisest gentlemen I've been around.
I spent several mornings and evenings before and after class looking around San Francisco and enjoyed walking across the Golden Gate Bridge, the Presidio, Chinatown, Fishermen's Wharf and more...Was great to be greeted by the family when I got to the airport late last night just in time to kiss Allie on her 2nd Birthday! (Wait till you see her new haircut. Hotstuff!)
Here are a few pictures of the trip.
Have a great week!
FUN FACTS:
*The clock tower you see survived the 1906 Earthquake but the time was frozen at 5:16 a.m. for one year before it was fixed!
*The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the longest in the world...it took me nearly half an hour at a fast pace to walk the whole distance.
*Spaced along the Golden Gate Bridge are emergency phones with this message: "Emergency Counseling Hotline: There is Hope! The Consequences of Jumping are Fatal and Tragic."
*The Victorian Era Houses that you remember from the beginning of Full House were from a rare few that survived the 1906 earthquake.
*One of the favorite items to eat on the waterfront is the famous sourdough bread bowls filled with soup (crab, potato, chowder...)

The time we made it home and headed to bed! Are we bad parents?!?!?!

You are amazing parents! I'm so happy that the steps of faith you took to change your career are beginning to pay off. We know you still face a lot of training and hard work--not to mention the rest of boot camp--but you are a testimony of God's "hands on" guidance. We'll keep praying for you as you dedicate your life to follow Him wherever He leads. Love you, Mom
