Fun weekend in Steamboat Springs

Hi Family and Friends,

We had a great weekend retreat in Steamboat Springs on Saturday and Sunday. Steamboat Springs has been a special town for Christina and I since we were married. We love to go and spend time in this little mountain town, getting away from the city to breathe fresh air, camp, shop and eat ice cream.

For this trip we met Christina's folks at the local campground and the kids swam, ate Smores, and played on the playground. I caught a fish with Herbie...it was a small one but Herbie thought it was big and stopped for a few moments to admire our trophy from his favorite pasttime of throwing rocks in the water! We walked downtown and got some ice cream, toured a local arts festival where the kids colored rocks and shared a sno-cone. On Sunday morning we watched the 38th annual Steamboat Springs Hot Air Balloon Festival. Christina and I had the chance to go up in the Teddy Bear balloon and see Steamboat Springs from the air. As we went back to our hotel on Sunday night we had to pull over suddenly because of a car blocking the road. We thought it was an accident but it turned out to be a big black bear in town. Pretty awesome to see!

Precious time with the family...
