THE CLASS DURING A BREAK TODAY
Hi Family and Friends,
Nothing really exciting to report from Ft. Jackson. It hit 102 degrees today! Hot, Hot, Hot! We got "smoked" for PT this morning as SGT Lopez welcomed our new class to the program with a session aiming for muscle failure. Lots of sweat, flutter kicks, and overhead arm claps! I'm really sore right now...
We've been in class all day yesterday and today, learning about leading chapel services in the field and other chaplain duties. Last night I drove the only Jewish Rabbi in camp, and his young wife Rachel, to the grocery store. It was cute as they both sat in the back seat on the way to the store. I have a love for the Jewish people and was honored to help this family...
My PT test is on Friday morning at 4:30 a.m. so that has pretty much consumed our platoon's mind. Tomorrow will be a run day, which I enjoy much more than "muscle failure" days. I've been so sleepy in class during the day that I think I will get to bed a bit early tonight.
I talked to the family several times today and love to hear the kids speak on the phone...Sure miss them all! I love those boots kiddos :)
Best,
Dave

Beings you're 2 hours earlier than here, I will pray for you on Thursday before I go to sleep. You've worked really hard and I know the Lord will help you. Stay cool! Love you, Mom
Praying for you Son and you will do well on Friday... Dad
I'm doing some situps and flutter kicks in honor of you... :-) You're doing great! Keep the updates coming so that I know how to pray specifically for you...
