South Carolina....we have arrived!
Yesterday was spent traveling. We got up early Tuesday morning to see snow on the ground. We hurried and finished the last minute check lists at 4 am and then pried our kids out of the bed (yes....kicking and screaming!) to get them dressed. Thanks Dad for riding along on this morning adventure with us! We left the house at 5:20 am. Our plane left DIA at 9 am and we flew to Chicago. Kids did very well on the flight and even stayed awake the entire time (not our plans, but the dramamine did not kick in yet I guess). Allie fell asleep right when we landed which started a melt down as I had to wake her up to get her off the plane. The Chicago layover was extended over three times due to a late plane and then we sat in the plane for almost another hour before take off. During all this time, Allie broke down screaming and crying about every 5 - 10 minutes. Herbie slept the second flight and Bowman and Allie took turns crying (for the hour we sat on the runway and then the 1 1/2 hour flight there). As we tried to get off the plane, all three kids began screaming and then the entire container of baby puffs went flying everywhere. Everyone was annoyed with us, but as Dave put it, the baby puffs flying was like confetti saying...don't worry, the party with the Nagels is almost over! Thank you to the nice hotel driver who waited an hour for us to get there and our bags. He drove all our suitcases to the hotel and put them in our room while we got our rental car. We hit a drive through on the way to the hotel, got lost on the way to the hotel, oh- stopped at Walmart for milk and finally made it here. Everyone crashed for the night (praise the Lord) and today was a new day! This morning we made the big trip to the commissary, Walmart and Sams club to stock our cupboards for the month we are here. Dave just left to report for his first time this session. Wish us luck on our new adventure...........

Wow, what a journey! I'm so thankful you are there safe & sound. The place looks like it will work out for a month...maybe not as spacious as you had hoped? Anyways, good luck this first week getting settled in - missing you here!
Hallelujah! Traveling with three kids on a plane is SO hard. Don't worry, I have never heard of anyone who traveled with three kids and didn't have a nightmare story to tell. It makes you wonder why everyone on the plane looks at you like you're the first person to ever try it? Your hotel looks nice. Glad you're safe, relax and enjoy!
