Welcome...

Hi Family and Friends,

I really wanted to share my upcoming journey with you as I prepare for boot camp this summer. If all goes as planned I have three weeks before I leave for South Carolina. (Ft. Jackson) I am excited, nervous, curious and anxious to get going! The boot camp is called Chaplain Basic Officer Leadership Course (CBOLC) and is a 12 week program. Thankfully chaplain candidates break the course into two sections of 6 weeks each so I will only be doing the first half of the training this summer.

I finished school last week (Denver Seminary) and now have the next few weeks to keep working on my running, situps, pushups, hiking and "honeydews" before I leave. School went really well this semester as I was able to focus on classes at night and the kids during the day. Last semester was so tough trying to pastor part time at Green Mountain Christian Church and go to school full-time as well!

How did grades go? I think pretty good. Grades don't come out yet. A's and B's. (I hope!) God has been good to our family in this crazy year of transition and in our time of change we sense his presence guiding a step at a time.

Please be praying that the paperwork goes through and the National Guard is able to reserve a spot for me this summer. Please be praying I can drag my fat belly out of bed in the morning to go running. Lots of love to you all!!!!

This is a great idea Dave. We will be checking in, probably daily, to see what you're up to and to have a laugh at your expense. Oh, we will be praying for you as well!! - The Carsons

i hope this doesn't come off sounding condescending in any way, but i just want to tell you that i am so proud of you. so proud of your servie to God, so proud of your service to our troops, and so very proud to be your friend.

you will be missed. and we can't wait to hear about your experiences. be sure to rent the movie "stripes" before you go to get a little insight into how things work at boot camp!

and if i haven't said it already . . . you will be missed, you will be missed, you will be missed.

It's been awhile! I'm so excited for you & Christina and your new journey. The kids are adorable and getting so big! I will definitely be praying for you and those sit-ups & early morning jogs, etc. and also for Christina and the kids. Our country is extremely fortunate and honored to have you serving our troops,

Take VERY good care of yourself!

When I look at the picture of you in your uniform with your beautiful family, my heart swells with pride and love. I of course remember you in the little blue knit outfit you wore when Dad and I dedicated you to the Lord. It's hard sometimes to watch your children grow up and fulfill the plans God has for them but I trust Him completely to watch over you and use you in the way He sees fit. Never doubt for one minute that my prayers are with you continually. Love you son! Mom
